Eczema on hands and fingers

I have been reading the question and answer board on the Eczema on the fingers and hands,
I have had tiny microscopic little like spike type growths on my hands and fingers for some years now ans I wa thinking it mihgy be this thing you where discussing about Eczema, but I have them groying like crazy around the edges of my finges ans my hands and in the center of my palms.
Kind of like a reath of little skin spikes all around my fingers and just a few single ones on my feet.
I wnt to a dermatolgest amd I was told that they where incurrable, but i forgot what he called them.
Does this sound like the same thing as what these others are suffering from and cam it be taken off by any other means than what I have been doing, which is filing them off with a nail every two to three weeks.
