Elongated spots

Elongated spots

I noticed that the hair of certain part of my beard  do not grow and with time this places appear like  elongated wounds. The sink in these place have the same color as the surrounding area.
• This problems backs to 4 years ago beacause I didn't notice it clearly , and in the fact they are two elongated spots, the oldest one from the right of my cheek and the  newin the left (2 months ago).
• The hair in the beginning look like cutted and it tends to disappear.
• The skin in this places looks well but less in thinckness , the general look is like healed knife wound.
thanks

Hi.

Hair loss may be due to a skin condition such as a fungal infection or seborrheic dermatitis. In some, it may be due to a disorder of hair growth itself. There are cases of telogen effluvium wherein hair from areas of the body tend to fall off. This may resolve spontaneously. At this point, I can not think of differentials for your case. You have noted that scar tissues seem to replace  the hair loss.

Is the scalp affected?

Are there any patchy or defined hair loss in the scalp ?

I suggest that you have this assessed by a dermatologist. It is best to have this assessed early on. This may be a hair follicle problem. A complete physical examination may be done to rule out similar conditions in other parts of the body.
