A child in my daughters preschool has been absent for several days. The teacher said that the littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys girl has emptigo. Emptigo is supposed to be a contagious skin infectiion. I have not been able to find any information on this infection. Have you ever heard of emptigo? If so, what is it, what are the signs and symptoms?
The word is impetigoImpetigo Impetigo, bullous on the buttocks. It's a commonCommon cold bacterial skin infection in children. Although it is contagious, you don't need to worry, because the rash is obvious: blisters and scabs on the faceFace pain, and so on. The child who went home is certainly treated by now (treatment is easy: antibiotic creams, etc.)
