Epidermal nevus Syndrome

Epidermal nevus Syndrome

Hello,  My 2 year old son was just diagnosed with epidermal nevus syndrome.  He has a large "birthmark"  on his neck and the right side of his chest and back.  It does seem to follow the lines of voight or blaschko.  There is no red coloration or itchyness.  It just appears like blotchy discolored skin that is slightly raised.  He has no other symptoms and is perfect in every way.  The doctor wants him to recieve an MRI, blood test and eye exam.  I am trying to do more research but am not finding much.  There are so many different kinds and so many big words I don't understand.  His seems to fit the description of Linear Epidermal Nevus (LEN)  which seems like the milder of all the others.  But I couldn't find pictures or much of a descripton.  Is there any literature you can recommend?  If he does have LEN,  Do you think I still need the MRI?
Thanks,
Marietta
