Errors in Pathology Reports - valid concern?

I've seen numerous reports of concern over frequent false negative pathology reports regarding mole biopsies.  I had a mole appear right after the birth of my child.  To me it appeared like the photos of melanoma.  It was biopsied and came back mild hystologic and archetectural dysplasia.  This was 12 years ago.  This has been nagging at me for years to the point that I contacted QUEST requesting a reevaluation of the slides.  The slides have been destroyed so this is not an option.  In addition to remembering how suspicious the mole looked, I have started having trouble with the leg that the mole was on.  I had an mri of the hip and thigh and all was fine.  The white scar area sometimes stings or itches.

Since the slides are no longer available, is there any test I can get to put these fears to rest?  Would having the scar biopsies prove anything?
