Excess body hair

my 5 year old daughter has always had a lot of body hair / down but it seems to be getting more pronounced as she gets older. In places her hair is patterned in "swirls" and she has a small mole in the middle of one of these swirls on her back. This seems to be very unusual from what I am told and I would be grateful for any feedback- thank you.

The question is whether your daughter has any signs of virilization (excessive production of the male hormone, androgen.)  These would include deep voice, growth of beard, baldness, etc.

I'm betting she has none of these, and the hair is familial or genetic.

My advice is to speak to your pediatrician.  Perhaps referral to a child's skin specialist would be advised.

I doubt the mole is of relevance or significance.

To remove the excessive hair, laser treatment is at least a possibility, and this too should be explored.
