Exfoliation?

Exfoliation?

Posted by Michael on August 14, 1999 at 12:04:10
Dr. R,
I've been told that to exfoliate without doing more harm than good, one should gently rub one's fingertips over a clean damp face(presumably one's own). I've tried this in the shower and see clear evidence that it does exfoliate. But the larger question is if it's worth doing. Does this sort of mechanical exfoliation; a.) provide any benefit to people prone to acne?; b.)possibly do any harm; or c.) does it simply fall into that large class of "probably won't help, probably won't hurt, so if it feels good, go ahead and do it." things?
Thanks,
Michael

Michael:
I'd go with "c."
Best.
