Extreme itching after applying sunscreen

After applying sunscreen and some other lotions I get this extreme itching that can only be relieved by taking a shower and washing the sunscreen off. Does anyone know what causes this?

Thank you very much for your reply. This happens within minutes after putting sunscreen on in the house before I even go outside. I have to apply sunscreen to my sun before he goes to camp and I have to wash it off immediately.

I do not have any allergies or skin issues.I have tried tons of sunblock, no paba, no aloe, all natural, etc. etc and still have not found one that works.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This may be an allergic contact dermatitis. Does this happen immediately after applying the sunblock or does this  occur after exposure to the sun. Chemical photosensitivity is also a differential here. The sunscreen may react with the prolonged sun exposure and cause a sensitivity reaction with the skin. I suggest you avoid using the sunblock. Get sunblocks which are organic or hypoallergenic. Try this out on a small patch of skin before applying them on large areas.

Do you have known allergies?
