Eye warts

by Christeee, Sep 10, 2008 11:25AM
How long are eye warts contagious?  How long can it take for them to fall off?  What are precautions so that others don't get them?

This discussion is related to HPV on eye lids.

Hi,

Warts are caused by infection with viruses which leads to development of excessive keratin layer on the skin.

eye warts are similar in nature other than they occur near the eye. It takes the bosy 6-8 months to develop a complete immunity in case of infection with warts. The warts are contagious if there is some leakage of blood or body fluids, through out this period.

You should avoid picking/scratching on them as that may lead to auto-inoculation. This may also spread to other persons via the same route.

You must take the same precautions to avoid the spread for yourself as for others. read more at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wart

best regards.
