I too have had my eyelashes falling out on and off for over 2 years! They fall out in clumps usually in the center area sometimes towards the corner, not the outer area of my eye. They grow back extremely slow, and then it usually begins on the other eye. I have always had beautiful long full lashes, I do not ever rub or pull on them. The only meds I am on is VivelleVivelle Vivelle-dot dot, I am 52,(if that makes a diffrence!) I have been tempted to put the fakes on but do not want to make matters worse. I asked my M.D., my Gyno, dermatoligist and eye DR.. same answers. Could be make-up, stress, they have no idea. I am not a vain person but this is hard to deal with HELP, any suggestions????
Do your eyelashes from both eyes fall off?
Falling off of eyelashes may be due to skin problems involving the eyelids. Blepharitis or seborrheic dermatitis are conditions which may cause falling off of eye lashes. Is your skin condition associated with scaling or redness of the eyelids?
I suggest that a baseline consult with an ophthalmologist will help. A complete eye examination will help exclude an underlying eyelid problem.
