Face Pitting

by Nora, Aug 04, 2001 12:00AM
Hello,

Is there any treatments for very slight face pitting caused from infected spots? What do you think of Retin-A?

Thank you.

Slight face pitting may be helped somewhat by peeling the skin.  In order of strength (weakest first) these include: glycolic acid peels, microdermabrasion, trichloroacetic or other chemical peels, and laser resurfacing or dermabrasion.  A cream alone isn't likely to help much.  I suggest you consult a doctor familiar with these procedures, who can help you decide which if any is right for you.

Best.

Is the pitting from acne, and is it on your cheeks or your chin?  Have you tweezed hairs from the area?  This can contribute to the cause of pitting, and you should take care of the cause before treating the pitting.
