Face and neck irritation / ingrown hairs.

Face and neck irritation / ingrown hairs.

My issue is that I can never completely get rid of bumps/ingrowns/irritation on my neck and sometimes on my face. I have a conference I leave for in 12 days and would really like to clear up my face / neck in that time frame.

Attached are some pictures for reference. I know that it is not bad at all but it was and I have been taking the necessary steps to reduce it. I just want to see if there is anything else that I can try to really clear up my entire face and neck, and possibly even out skin tone. I am trying to not sound girly here, but I just want to be presentable and professional for this trade show.

What I am doing now:
-Shower Warm/Hot water
-Wash face (Cetaphil)
-Shave
-Sometimes I'll wash again with cetaphil
-Rinse VERY cold water.. like ice cold.
-Dry face completely
-Tendskin (Aspirin solution that is supposed to help with ingrown hairs and irritation) and let dry
-Moisturize with cetaphil moisturizer
-Night time: Cleanse and moisturize, sometimes tendskin on neck, sleep on fresh towel.

One issue I think may be arising is that I tweeze out ingrowns and pluck them. So I think ingrowns that I tweezed a week ago may be growing in crooked and causing the irritation.

I need to try and be presentable in 12 days. I need a plan to try to clear everything up. Any ideas?

Do you use an electric razor or razor blades?

Quit plucking.

No need to wash your face again after you shave.

Hello,
It can be due to folliculitis or perifolliculitis. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted in case you have any doubts.
