Hi, my girlfriend is expareancy burning of the face, neck, and behind the ear. She says its itchy and also her eyes are swollen. Her face is breaking out with pimple like rashes also.
Two weeks ago she was sick with a bad cold/fever. She doesn’t take many meds when she’s sick, but this time she took Tylenol 3 for a few days then stopped when her ferver stoppted. Her face usually breaks out with pimpls when she’s stressed and we notice that she was breaking out like 6 days ago, but didn’t think much about it.
Please any help would be helpful. She moved for college and doesn’t have her inserance card yet so she can’t see a doctor until she gets it from her parents. Thank you
This could be an allergic reaction, irritation or other skin conditions such as dermatitis. If this is due to her allergies or irritation, the symptoms may resolve if the offending trigger is removed from the picture. At this point, it is best that she avoid scratching the lesions and to keep the face clean and dry. if symptoms persist, further evaluation may need to be done by her doctor ( or from her college health care provider) for proper management. Direct clinical examination is important. Over-the-counter antihistamine medication may also help. Take care and keep us posted.
