Face

My face would start to vibrate around my lips and my entire face would start as well. My lips would start to swell up as large as a monkey and my entire face would grow as well. It reaches a point I cannot speak and when my eyes would swell I could barely see. The folliowing morning my face would look normal. But, as soon as I touched my face or something my face would start vibrating...This problem has continued now for a a week and I cannot figure out what happened to cause this. Is it something I ate or touched. What could cause this to happen? This happened to me when I was 25 years old. I don't remember why it stoped it just did. But without leaving a fear of this happening again. Some 25 years later it has. Please let me know what this could be, what can I take to heal this?  Thank you.

Unexplained swelling of the face, eyes, ears etc without any predisposing disease is frequently caused by allergies. An allergic reaction can occur suddenly, even in a person with no previous history of allergy. This swelling is called angioedema. Diagnosis is by clinical examination and complete blood tests, electrolytes and renal function tests. Treatment is by antihistaminics like Benadryl or Zyrtec and steroids. If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a physician.
