Facial Hair Condition

I have strange facial hair growing in with the rest of my hair. The strands are usually two to three time as thick and are very very brittle. They do not connect to the follicle either. they tend to just slide out with the slightest pull. There is no pain or discomfort and I am not too concerned for my health. It just seems bizarre and nobody can explain. Nor has anyone I've asked seen it before. Any ideas?
