Facial Mole

6826390?1302842758
Good Day!

I've read that moles should be monitored every now and then for changes. I would just like to know if moles can grow without them being dangerous?

I have this mole on my right cheek. And it used to be smaller when I was younger. As I grew, it changed in size too. I wanna know if it's something to be worried about. Or if it's normal for moles to grow. Mine didn't show other symptoms of chronic itching, flaking, oozing, hurting, or bleeding (except for a time when I small pimple grew near the edge of it and popped, but other than that, it never bled).

Thank you so much! Any response would surely help me. God Bless you!

Hello,
From the picture and symptoms it looks like a simple nevus and there is nothing to be worried about. Melanomas are usually >6 mm in size, with irregular borders , asymmetrical and dark in color. So rest assured as it does not sound like a melanoma.
However keep an eye on it as any mole which is looking different from other moles on the body and which is growing irregularly and out of shape and size needs to be checked by a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
