Facial Rash

I'm a  43 year old female that has always had normal skin, even as a teenager.  However, in April my face started breaking out with patches of red-like bumps that itch and hurt to touch.  I was on several medications at the time, so I discontinued each of them, but the rash is still present.  I've used the same make up and moisturizer for years, but I also changed them to see if they might be the culprit.  But no change.  It does not spread in the sun, but does itch more after being hot or in the sun.  My doctor was puzzled when he saw it, and diagnosed me with a type of rosacia, giving me an antibiotic to take.  It has not helped at all.  Do you have any suggestions as to what this rash might be?  Thank you.
