Facial rash with propranalol

Facial rash with propranalol

I was given propranalol slow realease capsules last year for anxeity and I developed a itchy spotty rash down one side of my face, also my skin became dry and sore, when I stopped taking them it went with antihestamines.

I was put back on it again but this time the pink ones to see if they would be more suitable I think I may be starting to get the rash agian. I really feel great with the propranalol but I dont want to have this ugly rash on my face is there an alternitive medication or should I take antihestimines along with the propranalol?

Hi,
A  few cases of erythematous rashes and increase of facial acneiform lesions have been reported; urticaria; exfoliative psoriasiform eruption.
You could discuss alternative treatment options with your doctor to help with anxiety.
Since you are allergic to it , it is not advisable to continue with it.
The rash may continue to get worse as the concentration of the drug increases in your body.
Until then please do take anti-histamines to treat rash.
