Fat gland infected

by sk27678, Sep 04, 2009 06:38AM
Hello,

1 or 2 years ago I had a small gland inside my skin on the chest, close to my neck. it was a small one and it remained like that for some times. 4 months ago I asked the doctor about it, and she said that with a great probability it was a fat gland, not dangerous. And the answer to my question if it can be done something to take it away was that the scar from the surgery would be more visible than the gland itself, so it is not convenient to take it away.
It is 2 weeks now that the gland has grown as much as a pea, it is too much visible, and it is hard if I touch it. The skin there has also a higher temperature than in the other areas. I went to another doctor, general doctor, and she told me that the gland is now infected, and I have to wait until it is mature and press it, as she saw a small dot on it.I asked about surgery, if it is something that could be done to take it away, and she said no.
Now I am very worried, because this thing keeps growing, and I want to be sure that I am doing the right thing, but also for esthetic reasons because it's the first thing it shows in my chest. My question is: is the right thing to do to wait until is mature, and especially to press it? I am affraid of this, it's not just an acne.....Or it's better to talk about surgery or something else?
I will be waiting for your answer.
Thank you
