Yes Finasteride is used for hair fall but it is not without side effects. Side effects include impotence, abnormal ejaculation, decreased ejaculatory volume, abnormal sexual function, gynecomastia , erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorder and testicular pain.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. The doc I met is a specialist in this and he said that he does not give this medicine for people who are over 50 years old.
Could you tell why  ? I didn't ask.

Hello,
Your doctor must be reluctant to prescribe it to you because of the above mentioned side effects. Also impotence and decreased libido may occur in patients treated with this drug.
