Finger Fungal Infection

Hi
is it safe to try to concieve (conceive) when I have a finger fungal  infection, I dongt want to wait any longer to try for a baby....

Hello,

Pls elaborate on the type of fungal disease that you are having and whether you are taking any medicines for it.There are many fungal diseases which effect the fetus and use of antifungals in pregnancy requires special consideration for the safety of the developing fetus.

Most antifungals penetrate the placenta and so most oral and systemic antifungal medicines are not recommended in pregnancy.Topical antifungal medicines can be taken but depends on the type and strength of dose of the medicine.

I sincerely advise you to try getting rid of the fungal infection first and if you still want to conceive,pls consult your gynecologist and get yourself prescribed for those antifungal medicines only which are safe in pregnancy.
