Finger Fungus? Pain

I have this growth on the side of my thumb next to my nail.
Not on or under my nail. Has been there about a month or so.
At first I was able to pick the dead skin away and it seemed small like it would go away but it has gotten worse. I have tried one otc liquid but no luck yet. Seems to be growing deeper into my thumb and causing pain to the touch or hit. It is also very hard surfaced. Skin Fungus?

you'll need to see a dermatologist. there is not any effective over the counter treatment for that type of fungus and even though you cannot tell yet it may have invaded your fingernail.

left untreated it can spread finger to finger and cause your nails to come off.
