Fixed Drug Eruption lesion removal

by DrInTraining, Nov 24, 2008 07:55PM
I was just diagnosed with a Fixed Drug Eruption lesion on my penis about a quarter size in diameter.  My dermatologist had sent off for a biopsy and all evidence points to FDE.  The medication most likely was Naproxin (Aleve).  I have refrained from the use of the drug for 2 months now, and very little of the lesion has disapeered.  My dermatologist informed me that what happened was similar to a tattoo and that it will more than likely be a permanent lesion.  Is there anything I can do to return the normal pigmentation? I'd be open from topicals to plastic surgery, however I'm currently in college and the latter would be rather expensive.  Advice?
