Flaky, dry, red, rash under right nostril seems to be spreading

I'm a 13 year old girl who is turning 14 on February 17, I have noticed a few months ago that I have a red flaky rash under my right nostril.  I asked my mother about it she said it was an allergic reaction or simple reaction to some chemical after all I do have sensitive skin.  I'm not sexually active so I'm pretty sure that I did not get herpes, and I talked to a school nurse she said that it's just dry skin and then to rub lotion on it every day.  I've been doing that on and off recently and I cannot tell if it's affecting it positively or negatively.  I'm really hoping you can help me because I'm worried and I have never had any issues with such a rush like that.

It can be an allergic reaction or contact dermatitis to any of your cosmetics, seborrehic dermatitis or eczema skin. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. It is usually caused by overgrowth of Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates and is aggravated by sweating and humidity.
