Flareups and treatment.

by kritty2009, Oct 10, 2009 04:12PM
I am 22 years old and have had psoriasis for ten years. I am currently using Dovonex, but I've only noticed a mild change after...maybe 6 months of using it, twice a day.  I've also tried pretty much every other topical treatment and have a few questions:
Does a steroidal ointment mess with your hormones?  I'm having thyroid issues after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%).  Also, does having hormonal fluctuations promote psoriasis flare ups? When I was sick (hypothyroidism), my psoriasis went CRAZY, up and down my legs.
Also, should I keep using Dovonex.  It says that it could take 8 weeks to START working...should I just stick with it?  Has anyone else had a successful run with it?
