Forehead rash - looks like small pimples

4543976?1244503517
I started using Proactiv about 6 months ago, with wonderful results.  I spend the month of April in a tropical climate and ever since then have had a large patch of tiny pimples--sometimes red, sometimes normal flesh tone--all across my forehead and temples. I have not changed my skin regimen. The rest of my skin--nose, cheeks and chin--is clear.  There is no irritation and they really don't seem to behave like regular pimples.

Some have suggested it could be prickly heat, but I have always lived in a hot, dry climate, and I haven't heard of heat rash lasting over 2 months.

Any ideas?

Looks like Folliculitis and sometimes active treatment for acne especially with broad spectrum antibiotic can result in gram-ve folliculitis.Treat with specific narrow spectrum for concerned organism ideally after culture sensitivity test.

Hello,
Looks like folliculitis. Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

I struggled with something similar for many years (using 10% benzoyl peroxide Clearasil mixed with 50/50 with 10% ethanol).  A dermatologist I visited suggested antibiotics and cleansers but they didn’t help.  I eventually discovered it went away when I stopped eating eggs, cheese, and red meat to lower my cholesterol.  It still appears the next morning after eating things like cheese pizza and takes a few days to go away but my cholesterol is down and it works as warning to stop falling off the wagon/diet.
