Freeze Away/Liquid Nitrogen circular burns to legs

Freeze Away/Liquid Nitrogen circular burns to legs

Silly me attempted to use the Freeze Away/Liquid Nitrogen approach to clearing skin bumps that appear as warts on my inner thighs.  Well, I had the treatment applied before in my dermotologist's office so I attempted to do so myself to try to avoid making a doctor's appointment because I thought I was applying the same treatement.  Well...come to find out, it turned red, just as the liquid nitrogen did the first time I had it done but THIS time, dark marks remain 1 month later.  They do not seem to be going away.  I have tried exfoliating my inner thighs (both sides) for several weeks now almost every time I shower and they are STILL there.  There are about 5-8 circular marks on both inner thighs from using the applicator.  How in the WORLD can I get these dark marks to go away?  I don't understand why they haven't when liquid nitrogen was applied before to those areas on my legs and never got like that.  I keep reading that ice burns go away just like heat burns do and take time but it's been a month and they are still CLEARLY visible and dark!  Summer is here and I'd like to wear shorts so I can let my legs breathe...please advise on what needs to be done to clear up my skin.  If I have to see my dermotologist, I will go but I really don't have much cash as most people these days and I am trying to avoid doing that if there is a home remedy or over-the-counter approach I could use to avoid it.   Please help!  Thank you.

Hello,
These scars are a sort of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation scars and they are not easy to treat. The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. But they are available by prescription.  If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
