Fungal issues

I have had an issue when a fungal infection in my groin (jock itch) for a little over a month now.  I know for certain that is a fungal infection I have seen a doctor about it a few times, and have ruled out the possibility of it being an STD through tests as well (urine and blood).  At any rate, I know that jock itch can be a tricky thing to get rid of for some because of people's different sweating patterns, and I for one sweat all the time in the groin region.  I have been treating it for some time now and I have had success, but I am still having trouble getting it to go away for good, and it is worse on my right groin as opposed to my left.  The answer could be as simple as getting an anti-fungal pill, but I wanted to get some thoughts on it.

I also considered the idea that it could be cat scratch, or cellulite.  I don't think the doctor is wrong but I think it might be time to go for prescription strength anti-fungal.

Hello,
Jock itch shows up in post-adolescent men and hormonal changes during puberty, lifestyle and heredity each play a role.Predisposing fungal disease like tines cruris may also aggravate it.

Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. and do not share other people’s towels. Most cases of jock itch respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.

If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Kindd,

Like I said I am concerned that either I have very active sweat glands in my groin and it keeps the jock itch from going away completely, or that I need a stronger prescription.  Either way I will be speaking with my doctor soon.

I suppose I need to do more research on the topic.
