Fungus on Toe

by Corey, Sep 03, 1999 12:00AM
I have some kind of fungus growing on my big toe out of my toe nail. Sometimes it hurts to walk on that foot. The skin has grown to accomodate the fungus. It has all hardend and bleeds alot.
What is it and how can i take care of it?

Corey:

What you describe sounds more like an ingrown toenail than a fungus.  My advice is that you
1. soak the foot in warm water for 5 minutes twice a day
2. then apply bacitracin or neosporin ointment
3. let the nail grow out and trim it flat, so the corner can't grow into the skin
4. if you don't feel better, see a podiatrist

Good luck.
