Genital skin burning after sex

by Anatnom, Jun 20, 2005 12:00AM
Background:  I went a little crazy after my ex-girlfriend and I officially broke up.  IN the first 18 months after our break-up, I had unprotected sex with about 20 different women, some in which I had just met that night and never saw afterward.

At some point, I had a traumatic family experience after that 18 month period.  The result was alot of stress which was followed by some weird symptoms.   My entire groin(penis, testicles, area between my testicles and anus, and inner thighs)  were as itchy and burning as anything I'd ever experienced in my life.  Wearing clothes was next to impossible, and I would frequently go to the bathroom at work and into the stall simply just to take off my pants and underwear for relief.  This burning, tingling, itching lasted for almost two weeks.

Over the next year this would happen occasionally, but not the extent.  Triggers were stress, sex, excessive caffeinated coffee, and possibly the sun.

Sounds easy.  Herpes, right?

That's what I thought too.  But I got the Herpeselect from Focus blood test done twice, along with two tests a piece for AIDS, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, and Syphilis.  Impressively all negative.

What has transpired since the first "outbreak"  2 years ago...

1.  All symptoms gradually diminsh/lessen to the point where it is not uncomfortable, just a little annoying.

2.  Happens every single time I have sex, or masturbate with any type of lubricant.  The skin gets uncomfortable on my genitals, tingles and is hot, and the area between my testicles and anus is hot and tingles alittle, and my inner thighs do as well.  It's like the whole area is activated, and becomes alive.

3.  Every now and again.  I get a "pinch", kinda like an ant biting me type of feeling.  These "bites" only happen when I am tingling, mostly on the thighs and near the anus.  There is never any mark or pimple/lesion of any sort in the area where the "bite" occurs.

I don't even worry about it, or think about it anymore, so it's not really a point of stress.  I have a comfortable relationship now and have explained to the girl I am dating what happens to me, and she is not afraid or worried.

I kinda am hoping I have a new disease or something that will be named after me.

I'd love to hear what you'd think is going on with me.

The only medication I routinely take is Propecia(for vanity purposes), and that medication I started after the original "outbreak".

That's it.  Thanks.

I don't know why you say, "Sounds easy. Herpes, right?"  It doesn't sound anything like herpes, and the negative blood tests bear that out.  I don't recognize your symptoms as being related to any skin disease, sexual or otherwise, that I know of.  I think they are anxiety-related.  Even if you're not under much stress overall, you're still worried about these symptoms (or else you wouldn't have sent me the question.)  I frankly think you should ignore the symptoms, because if you do I expect them to go away and I can't think of any medical significance to them.

If you're still concerned anyway, perhaps a visit to a skin doctor would help, at least to alleviate your worries.

Best.

Hi,

I suffered similar symptoms (but I'm female).  I had a few episodes lasting from 1 week to 6 weeks.  The six week episode was when I was already in poor health - I had undiagnosed gallstones for 10 months, all of the episodes were during this time.  I was tested for STD's, herpes in particular.  I was tested for herpes 3 times in all and all results were negative.  I was referred to a specialist who told me it was eczma (eczema).  She advised me to wash with an emollient or any eczma (eczema) cream.  I was also given a corticosteroid cream called trimovate which is used to treat severe inflamation (inflammation) of the skin. Since I had my gallbladder removed I have been fine.

Hope this helps...

not sure if maybe i have the same. For about 7months now i have been having a burning sesation during and after sex. During sex it burns so bad we have to stop. So we thought it might be because i was a little dry. So after waiting about 2 weeks we tried to use a lube with it. That burned like fire as soon as we put it on. I have no discharge or oders no signs of yest infection. I have herpes but I found that out 3 years ago from a blood test. I have never had a outbreak the only way i knew i had it was cause my husband has outbreaks. so i went to the doctor she said i was red and irrated but didnt have a infection. she said she did see any herpe bumps. She gave me a cream to us said she think it is a fungus. I used it but nothing still the same but now my husband is itching real bad and is burning in his pubic area. Also we have found out my 7 month old son has Molluscum. I dont know what to do or where else to go
