Genital Herpes Symptom

Hi, I have posted on the STD forum and wanted some insight from a dermatologist as well.  I slept with a female and found her out to be HSV2 positive... You can read the details of this on the STD MedHelp Forum.  Anyway, I would like your opinion on whether these sound like HSV1 or 2 symptoms.
1.  I developed a bump 6 wks post exposure in the pubic hair region.  It was cultured to be negative.  Dr. Hook says the fact it was 6 wks and cultured negative is strong evidence not herpes.  Your opinion on this?
2.  I have had ongoing symptoms for the last 5 months which include:  tingling inside the lower part of my sctroal area, sensitive penis, burning penis, itching testicles - primarily on the left side but from a visual perspective no apparent irritation.
3. I also 2 sebaceous cysts show up on the left side of my scrotum.  They had hard cheesy/mealy material in them.  One stayed on my scrotum for 3 months before my dr. punctured it and cleared it out.  It is starting to come back and may be a little sore, but maybe from me messing with it...
4.  The lasting thing is the funny little feel I have on the left side of my scrotal sac but from a visual perspective, it appears to be normal...

In short, does any of this sound like herpes 1 or 2?

All advice is appreciated.

Please reply to ease my anxiety...

Is it possible that, absent current or soon to come overt lesions, etc, that genital herpes 1 or 2 could cause on and off:

1. scrotal itching
2. scrotal tingling
3. penis burning
4. penis sensitivity in the foreskin area?

I have had this on and off for 4 months, a negative IGG at 9.5 weeks...

I have had zero bumps/blisters on my penis/scrotal area.

Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum. Thank you for your questions.

Answers are:

1. It does not correlate with HSV infection. On the other hand, bump in pubic region is very often a clinical sign of folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicle).

2. Genital tingling, itching, burning and overall sensitivity are rather non-specific subjective symptoms. Unless a patient has systemic or local objective symptoms accompanied with subjective ones named above, it is impossible to make any conclusions. However, it is not unusual for a patient to experience such subjective symptoms when worried about health after potentially risky behavior.

3. Sebaceous cyst can get inflamed and painful if a patient tries to squeeze its content. If you feel a cyst is forming again, visit to a doctor who can remove it surgically would be a safer route.

4. See answer number 2. In addition, it is possible that your scrotal skin is slightly dry and therefore sensitive. If that is the case, use of simple moisturizer might be all you need.

In short, try to calm down, relax and take good care of yourself. Herpes simplex infection is highly unlikely the cause of your subjective symptoms.
