Genital Problems

by Deedesign, Jan 19, 2005 12:00AM
I have another question to ask you. I had a battle with Jock itch that turned into a staph infection, I posted a couple of months ago. Since then I had some irritations in and around that area. I did go to the Derm. & he gave me these strange foam type things to put on at bedtime & in the morning. (2 diff. foams) All they did was cause a burning feeling in the area. Mainly the creases & underside. My problem now is this. I noticed yesterday that the head of my penis was bright red as so are my testicles. No pimples just bright red & I was shocked? So, I left it alone & this morning I woke up to see that in my pubic hair their is a cluster of small pimples & then these pimples break off into a line of them leading up to my stomach. I have no idea what to make of this, they do not itch, burn, or hurt as of yet but what could this be? Is this all related to the bright red head of my penis & the testicles? Is this a yeast infection? Herpes? I have been under tremendous stress & anxiety for a while now? I still have some discomfort down there, mostly under the folds towards the butt , but now I am dealing with this super red area & finally these small blisters that have a cluster & then a line of them going towards my stomach? Any clue? Here is a pic, not the best pics due to my camera but I highlighted where the blisters are & the other shot I was moving so it looks like 2 images but can show you the bright redness I am experiencing. I would greatly appreciate your opinion.

Please see the 2 photos at:

My questions are: is this thing I am going through serious?
Is this a yeast infection? Herpes?
Does this imply my immune system is comprmised?
WHat is good to treat this?
Is it common to have the red area as well as these small blisters on my pubic hair region?
My last infection never really effected this area? What to do?

I am going to see the Derm. later this week but would like your input. Thank you.

Sorry, but it won't let me access the photos.

Redness of the testicles or head of the penis is not suggestive of herpes.  It may be eczema, chafing, or just a variant of normal.  None of this sounds serious, sexual, infected, or indicating immune weakness.

Please leave the spots alone so the doctor you see later this week can tell what's going on.  I'm sure the dermatologist will be able to set you straight.

Best.

Thank you Dr. I saw the Derm & he said it was Molluscum. He applied something on them & told me to wash it off in a half hour. He also told me to come back in 3 weeks to get any remainding pimples off. He told me these are the easiest STDs to remove. The thing is I am with one person who does not have it & I am taken back to where I got them?

If no one you're in contact with has them, then they aren't an STD in your case.  Molluscum is by no means always transmitted sexually, or at all.

Last question, I have some lower abdomional pain, very mild & i think some lymph node swelling in that area, can that be associated with the Molluscum? Is it something to be worried about?

Hi
For the last month and a half i have been dealing with a very annoying groin itch.As yet i havent done anything about it as i thought it would go away but obviously it has not.I am fine from the symptoms during the day it is only at night i have th problem.and as a result i have been loosing a lot of sleep due to the problem(generaly i wake at about 4 and usualy have to get up and take a shower to relive the annoyance and can not go back to sleep). There are no marks or anything as such on my groin so i am not sure what the problem is.any advice?
