About two years ago I had a couple bumps on my shaft. I went to planned parenthood and the lady quickly said they were warts, burned them off and sent me on my way. Later that year my glans (glands) on my penis
near foreskin. I decided to go to a urologist and he said that I had pearly papules and have nothing to worry about. I got a second opinion at a dermatologist and he told me I have pearly papules as well. I decided to have a biopsy done on the pearly papules and also another small shiny bump. The results came back negative for hpv and was told that it was normal skin and a cyst.
Now I'm wondering if I was originally misdiagnosed and if there are any other conditions that may cause or have some of the same symptoms. Possibly an allergic reaction
are Fordyce spots or pearly penile papules. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.
Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.

Thank you for your response. That does help a lot and I'm beginning to think that I was originally misdiagnosed. I feel that the lady was so eager to call it something that she just said it was a wart. However I've been doing some research and am starting to believe it may be a penile yeast infection. I have had slight itching and discomfort down there for a while now but it comes and goes. Also the skin on the head became really dry at one point and flaked off. This happened once a few months ago and hasn't happened again.
So my question now is what are some of the symptoms of a penile yeast infection and what do you think would be the best treatment method. Once again thanks for your response, It is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
It can be due to contact dermatitis or eczema or chronic fungal infection which presents this way once it becomes chronic. Treatment is different for all. While it is steroids for eczema, it is topical and oral antifungals for fungal infection.
