Genital Warts

by jkh_78, Nov 06, 2009 10:22PM
i recently found out i was pregnant. i had a papsmear but it came back normal. the other day when i was shaving in my vaginal area i seen three little white bumps. i dont know if they could be from hpv or genital warts or simply just razor bumps. the only person i have been with is my boyfriend for about 7 months. can the genital warts not show up in a pap ?

Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like infected hair follicles and not HPV warts. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
