Genital Warts???

by Just_curious712, Dec 07, 2006 12:00AM
I recently found a few small bumps in the area between the base of my Penis and my scrotom.  I thought it was irritation from shaving but decided to be safe so I went to a county STD clinic to have it checked. The Doctor said is was genital warts and froze them off.  She seemed pretty confident in her diagnosis.

   1. She froze not just the individual warts but a nickel sized are around themas well.  They were very small is this normal?

After a lot of research I have found that it doesnt sound like genital warts appear in this area.

   2. Could I have been misdiagnosed?  If something returns should I assume its warts and just go have it treated agian? or get a second opinion?

   3. What are the chances of reoccurance?

   4. I told a girl who I had just slept with a couple of days before I noticed the bumps even though the doctor said I shouldnt feel obligated.  Should I feel obligated to tell future parteners if sysmptoms dont persist after the recommended 6-12 months Dr. HHH talks about?

Yes--the blister usually extends beyond the frozen area.

After a lot of research I have found that it doesn't sound like genital warts appear in this area.

2. Could I have been misdiagnosed? If something returns should I assume its warts and just go have it treated again? or get a second opinion?
Yes, that's possible.  If you see them recur, perhaps get another opinion.

3. What are the chances of recurrence?
If they're warts, maybe after months or years.  If not, perhaps never.

4. I told a girl who I had just slept with a couple of days before I noticed the bumps even though the doctor said I shouldn't feel obligated. Should I feel obligated to tell future partners if symptoms don't persist after the recommended 6-12 months Dr. HHH talks about?
I don;t think you need to mention it after that time.
