Genital rash/sores

Im a 20 year old male and i have not been sexually active for over a year. I have recently noticed a pair of inch by half inch sores/rashes on my upper thigh in the inguinal area. One of the sores is slightly larger then the other. They change color from dark purple almost back to my basic white skin tone with temperature changes but are always there. They are not painful, itchy, or irritating. Any idea as to what this might be would be great.

From the symptoms that you have mentioned lichen planus needs to be ruled out. Lichen planus is an inflammatory disease characterized by its violaceous color that affects the skin and the oral mucosa, and presents itself in the form of papules(flat spots) or rashes. Treatment is available only on prescription and consists mainly of steroids, retinoids, hydroquinone and phototherapy. I suggest you to get this possibility evaluated from a dermatologist.
