Glans penis/foreskin problem

by golfer911, Dec 26, 2008 10:18AM
Hi Doctor. Please bear with me on this one. Im 26 uncircumcised. About a year ago I had some red spots on my penis glans and was diagnosed as having a yeast infection. I used the steriod cream prescribed and although the spots are gone I still have two problems. The first is that the penis glans are very sticky and dry. The best way I would describe it is like touching a "post-it note".

My second problem is probably related to the first in that my foreskin doesnt glide properly over the glans and isnt producing much/if any moisture to the glans. It needs lots of lubrication to move properly and even then it drys out easily. (It doesnt hurt to retract the foreskin though)
My local GP said I might have Exzema (eczema) and prescribed me some cream. It didnt help and I dont agree with his diagnosis. He said if I had a yeast infection the cream would have cured it.

Im not sure if I have a glans problem witch is causing the foreskin problem or vice versa? Please help!

Thanks!

ps. (no STD's, no itching. Slight odor sometimes)

I'm not sure that you have anything wrong with you, other than dry skin.  Mild eczema does seem possible.  I'm not sure what your doctor meant by saying that if it were a yeast infection, the (eczema) cream would have cure it, since thee two conditions are treated differently.  Having said that, I would add that your description sounds like mild eczema, not at all like yeast or any other infection.  I wouldn't worry about the problem, which sounds like a mild annoyance at worst, nothing catchy, etc.  Since it's continuing to bother you, perhaps the best thing would be for you to see a skin doctor, who can be more definitive about diagnosis and treatment than the doctor you saw first.

Best.
