Glans problem - help please

I have small lumps on the head of my penis glans which are the same colour as the glans. They give me no pain but are unsightly and I can't for the life of me find out what they are by searching online and I have never heard of such a thing. Was thinking of going to a dermatology clinic but not sure if it is appropriate for this type of thing. Does anyone have any sugestions on what this is or what I can do? Thanks

Hello,

A consultation of a dermatologist or a cosmetologist to confirm whether these bumps are Fordyce spots or not will be helpful. You can also discuss the treatment options which I have already stated with the doctor and find out which one works the best for you.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thanks for your advice. Who should I see to get this confirmed. My experience with seeing a doctor has been that they had little knowledge of such matters. Do you think I would be better off consulting a dermatologist?

Hello,

It looks like you are talking about Fordyce spots which are present normally on penis. Fordyce spots are small, bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and usually affect younger men. They may occur as a solitary lesion, but frequently appear in crops of 50 to 100. They are painless and not itchy, but may cause embarrassment because of their appearance. They may bleed if injured or even during intercourse. So pls avoid picking them up.

Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization.Treatment is only necessary only if they are causing any trouble or the patient is feeling embarrassed because of their appearance.Otherwise they should be left as such.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
