I recently heard that grape seed extract can help those of us with skin problems (wrinkling, sagging skin, etc) due to sun damage. I have also heard that supplementation may prevent skin cancer. Is there any truth to this? If so, what dosage should people supplement? Also, would supplementation help those who still get lots of sunlight (i.e. indoor/outdoor tanning)?
addition to the circulatory benefits that help maintain blood flow to the skin and provide antioxidant protection against damaging free radicals, research indicates that grape-seed extract can help maintain the structure and appearance of skin with its anti-elastase activity. Elastase is an enzyme that breaks down elastin-an important component of skin and connective tissues. By reducing the breakdown of elastin, skin is suppler and maintains a more youthful appearance. So grapefruit extract can help in preventing wrinkles.
Also for the sun damage, you should apply sunscreen with min spf of 30 at least half an hour before going out in the sun.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards. You can find more relevant information on the following link: http://www.supplementfacts.com/BioflavonoidBookS4.htm
