Grey/Brown Dot on Ear Ridge

by tulanejosh, Sep 12, 2009 12:11PM
I noticed a small gray or brown dot on the ridge of my ear.  It's about the size of a period, and is all a solid color.  Since its so small, i have a difficult time getting a clear view of it to determine exactly which color it is, but it's either a light grey or a light brown.

I just noticed it buy my wife claims its been there for a while, at least a year or more. My mother says the same thing.

But since i have never noticed it - a little concerned about it.  I picked at it slightly, and then had a doctor check it out.  When he looked at it was still healing.  It now looks like it did when i first noticed it (small period size dot). nevertheless he was unconcerned.

There are no irregular borders, its not big, its not bleeding, its not asymetrical or anything like that, its a solid color.  And it hasn't changed at all in the month or so that i have been observing it.  I also have my wife look at it since she can get a clearer view of it.  she says it hasn't changed either, except the 2 or 3 days of healing after i picked at it.

Based on this discription, would you agree that this is nothing to worry about?  my only real concern is the greyish (or brownish color)...

I don't think this is anything to worry about.  Leave it alone for a month so a doctor can tell, and then show it to one.

Thanks.
