Welcome to the DERMATOLOGY FORUM! Questions in this forum are answered by Dermatologists from St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, under the direction of Andrew Alexis, M.D., M.P.H.
For about 20 years, I have a layer of thick skin on the inner heels
of both my legs, they are thickest on the part not touching the ground, where it is exposed to the air. The part touching the ground is also thick but not as much. Sometime they crack, but rarely and exposed reddish tissue and it hurts. I have pretty much leave it alone since it does not bother me too much. For 20 years, they have pretty much stay where they are.
Now, my podiatrist told me to use Vanamide (Urea Cream, 40%) for the heel of my leg while my dermatologist tell me to also use Econazole Nitrate Cream, 1% also for the heel. Who should I trust or should I just use both products, or should I see a 3rd opinion for this condition which I have ignored for 20 years.

For the 2 products, can I use one right after another or should they be spaced out. If I can use one right after another, which one should I use first.
