Hi, I've had this irritation on my faceFace pain for about 6 months now. It shows up as a rash and white flakes on my faceFace pain, and I tend to cover it up with moisturizer. However, it is getting tiresome to keep doing this, and I wonder what it is, and what can be done about it. It does not itch. It also feels very dry and and plastic-ish to the touch.
It used to be small, but it has grown in size to what you see in the picture below. Thanks for your time and help!
I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be perioral dermatitis. In perioral dermatitis there are usually small red bumps or pus bumps, and mild peeling. The cause of perioral dermatitis is unknown. But some dermatologists believe it is a form of rosacea or sunlight-worsened seborrheic dermatitis.
Oral antibiotics and topical corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment.Pls consult a dermatologist as they are available on prescription. Also it is important to rule out other possibilities like xerotic eczma (eczema) and seborrheic dermatitis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
