and my leg. At that time it was about the size of a small pea. 3 weeks ago it had begun to grow in size, which is now approximately 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" long and about a 1/4" deep. There is no pain involved, it is attached to the skin, does not move freely, does not feel as if it is filled with any fluid but is a hard mass. I went to the hospital and was dismissed because the doctor says it is just a cyst. I have lived with cyst for many years and have had several types, which none seem to fall into the same cryteria as the growth I have now. I do feel that it was possibly miss-diagnosed and wish to hear some more input on what it may be. The doctor that i saw only poked it once with his finger
and said it was a cyst and that I should not waste his time with something like this. I could tell he was probably running a 36 hour shift and will dismiss his diagnosis and attitude. Can anyone shed any light on this subject? I don't want to end up finding out that I have cancer because the doctor I saw was too tired to deal with me.....
Based on your post, you have not mentioned of any discolorations in the area. This would make me assume that the growth is more likely skin colored. Skin colored growths may have skin tags, warts and molluscum
tumors that are composed of fibrous or connective tissue. They can grow in all organs, arising from mesenchyme tissue.

If the bump continues to enlarge or if pain and discoloration are present, then you may need to have this excised and biopsied . A biopsy will be able to give you a definite diagnosis and will also help allay your fears and concerns.
