Guttate Hypomelanosis ??

I have small white spots on my cheeks and my neck area ..had biopsy done on one of the spots ... will find out results next week... I was told its either:
Vitiligo or Guttate Hypomelanosis
Can't find any info on the Guttate Hypomelanosis ?? any body have any info?

Guttate hypomelanosis (droplike white spots) occurs on the arms and legs of middle-aged women with considerable sun damage.  That doesn't sound like you.  On the other hand, vitiligo most often presents as largish patches rather than "spots."  Quite honestly, I'm not sure what you have.  The biopsy ought to help clarify the situation.

My 19 yr. old son has slowly deveoped small white patches which
originally started on his arms only and now have spread to his upper trunk area - chest, back and considerably more on his arms-nothing on the lower part of his body nor on his face (thank God)
and his has become very alarmed over this.  They do not cause any
discomfort but he fears sun damage as he has spent the majority of his life in Florida and is an avid surfer, etc.. I have read the editorials on Vitilligo and it does not appear to fit the profile.  I have not had his tyroid tested as of yet.  What would you recommend at this point.  If it is sun damage what are the chances that his natural pigment will return??

It's tinea versicolor, a harmless fungus.  Have him apply Selsun Blue shampoo overnight for a week.  The color comes back.

I would like you to ask about white places of my skin on my body.I have white spots on my back and hands and also some white places on my skin like ISLANDS.This white places are still spreading and I am afraid that after some time I will loose my whole pigment on my body.Please can you help me some how.Is there any medicine for that?Or is it the failer of some part of my body .I am realy down on my knees and I do not know what to do.I will be glad if there will be any chance of medical treatment.

i am of east indian descent and because of my brown complexion the disease is highlighted.
