HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED STEROID ATROPHY FROM USING LOTRISONE ON YOUR PRIVATES?

I am interested in knowing how many of you men have suffered skin damage to your privates from using Lotrisone and whether this damage ever went away.  It seems that doctors everywhere, this website included, continue to perpetuate the myth that Lotrisone does not cause permanent skin damage.  I am living proof that it does.  A dermatologist at Kaiser said I have permanent atrophy and scarring and that there's nothing that can be done for it.  I cannot believe I am the only one that this has happened to.  Maybe if enough of us come out, doctors will finally listen and stop spreading this terrible misinformation.  So the question is this:  HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED STEROID ATROPHY/SKIN DAMAGE  FROM USING LOTRISONE ON YOUR PRIVATES?

NEVER USE STEROIDS ... the so called doctors are all crooks priscribing this poison to people. I gurantee they will not use it on there own or kids balls....... I suffered 10 years of hell from using a combination of cortisone creams and corticosteroid inhalers which i must say the side effects of the  later being worse than DEATH!!!!!!

Sorry, forgot to mention

Moreover this may or may not be related but certainly it happened right after using elocon is urine dribbling post void, I personally believe that abusive use of steroids led to affect the prostates.

Unfortunately, doctors have become a profitable agents rather than social support and help agents due to the liberalisation of social instiyutions which includes medical community.

Therefore they careless if they prescribe u something that wilk damage ur agents or may end ur life.

My dear friends life is too short to think about consequences, as a person who believe in god, I believe that these experiences are just a test and aI should live with then happily because tomorrow I might be taken to meet the one who created me.

I understand that u, non-god-believers or modern christians have too much faith in Life and its material thats why you rely too much on doctors and their chemicals rather than god and faith in his ability.

I was prescribed Hydrocortisone 2 weeks for this tiny red area on my glans whilst doctor " assumed" it could be fungul infection, Hydrocortisone cause the area of application becoming more red and sensetive.

I went to another doctor, he said this could be something similar to eczema so he prescribed even stronger steroid (elocon otinment) and thats where the serious problems started, he actually eanted me to use it until its gone!! But by the time I reached the third week I could not bare the pain it was causing me, so i stopped.

SIDE EFFECTS, are including redness, on glans, weaker skin, the worse is the swelling of the corona which I have never had prior to elocon1% and abit of irritation as well. Skin looks pale.

Moreever, this may or may not be related but certainly it happened right after using Elocon 1% .

There is definite neglectance by medicale practioners in regards perscribing these dangerous topical steroids. I was not informed about any side effects nor, the safe way I should use these products.

SteroidHell,
This happened to me in 2005 and it's completely turned my life upside down as well. I went to see a Board Certified dermatologist for vitiligo on my scrotum and shaft. She prescribed clobetasol which is a high potency steroid cream. I specifically asked her if it was safe to use on my privates and she said "sure, its fine, just as long as you don't use it for a long time". She told me to use it 2x a day for 8 weeks! I knew something was terribly wrong after 8 days. I didn't have to go to the emergency room but I noticed my skin became extremely red, irritated and thinner. I  immediately saw a different derm and he said "dont worry about it, to just leave it alone and that it would heal on its own". Well, here I am 8 years later and there's been no change. I'm just as shocked about this as you are. How did this happen to me!? The doctor that did this to me is Board Certified and went to ******* Cornell Medical School!!
I now go to the best dermatologist for Vitiligo in the country, Dr. Pearl Grimes in Los Angeles. She recommended I try laser treatment and referred me to a guy in LA. I had a consult with him and he said its 100% safe and the only downside is that it may not work. So, i'm going in next week to give it a shot. I'm nervous about doing anything down there but I figured that since i'm still suffering after all this time that I really have nothing to lose. Have you tried this or know anybody that has?
I submitted a complaint to the FDA about my experience about a year ago and no response whatsover. They probably dismissed it just like all the doctors do when they hear my story. Unreal.
Anyway,if you're up for it, I'd love to chat with you about this over the phone. I would do anything in my power to stop this from happening to anybody else.

Can't seem to vote anymore, but I believe I have permanent damage from steroid creams.  5 different doctors prescribed various steroid creams for what started as a simple itch, and then later what the next 4 doctors all said was eczema.  It is now painfully obvious that it was never eczema, but the skin had been weakened by the original application of the cream, and was easily damaged by friction, leaving rough scab like patches, which is what they all convinced me was eczema.  6 different steroid creams, 5 different doctors, 3 years of hell so far.  I would say it is permanent.

Alright I had applied betamethasone diprionate or however the hell it's spelled to the tip of my penis(opening of urethra) as perscribed by a urologist to various areas on my balls for about 5 days until it started to become pretty red then I stopped. At the time I did not know how potent this **** was, however I am wondering if only 5 days use of this could cause permanent effects to the skin?

Yes this happened to me as well.  Today I went to a urgent care doctor for an ear ache and mentioned I wanted to ask about it.  The first doctor was confused and went and got 2 other doctors when finally someone said steroids did this to him, one doctor after that even asked if I was injecting steroids in that area?  The smart doctor said no no, too much Lotrisone.  Then they rushed me out with a dermatologist name.  My scars are to my inner thigh (where i applied it) and not my scrotum or penis.  The look like stretch marks similar to another post on this website.  Not too bad but I will have to explain to every future sex partner when they first see it!  I applied mine for a 3-4 week duration until I was given the right cream from another doctor that cleared up the rash/fungus and exposed what was left.  I am unsure that it is permanent yet as it has only been noticeable for 2-3 weeks and I have not treated it.  If it gets any better or less "red", I think I can live with the stretch mark looking scars.  Thank you for this site and information.

I used it for about 10 days.  Felt strange, faint tingling on day 1.  Didn't put two and two together.  Then the tingling started increasing and my testicles had two red areas about the size of dimes.  Just thought it was some irritation, but didn't think it was serious.  Like on day 7 I had to call my doctor.  I'm pretty sure it was day 6 or 7, but he wasn't in.  So another doctor answered and I told him I was scared.  He said he was not concerned.  I asked him like 6 times.  He said I could keep on using it til my appointment.  Well, like on day 10 I ended up in the emergency room.  I should have listened to my gut but that doctor telling me he wasn't concerned made me feel a false sense of relief, like I was worrying about nothing.

I haven't done anything recently, since all the doctors I went to see since this happened are just as clueless as the ones who did this to me.  They would all look at my balls and say that they didn't see anything wrong.  Some were dismissive, a Urologist I saw started getting upset with me for bothering him with a non existent problem.  Other doctors thought it was all in my mind.  The way I was treated by doctors after the fact was about as bad as what was done to me.

One of the problems with testicles is that since they are wrinkled to begin with and their appearance changes with heat, cold, humidity, etc. and everyone's testicles look different, it just makes things more difficult.  That and the fact that many doctors cannot identify skin atrophy has created a truly terrifying and dangerous grey area for men, one I was not aware of til this happened.  Doctors see wrinkled balls and they think everything is fine.

I think the only thing that would have been helpful was to have taken a series of photos of my testicles before they mutilated me, taken photos on a hot day, cold day, etc., have taken a photo when I went to the emergency room with serious burns and a series of photos of the way they look now.  Even then, I don't think those doctors would have a clue, to tell you the truth.

The doctor who gave me the cream looked at my testicles and with a quizzical look said "Um, this looks like a yeast infection".

Some guys have posted stories of what sounded like steroid burns and the doctors, thinking the burns were the rash they were treating getting worse, or whatever, would PRESCRIBE MORE STEROIDS CREAMS!!!

If this happened to them, then I think they'd understand.
