I recent went to the doctor for 3, what looked like infected hairs on my penis. they look like 3 pimples with white heads each had a hair growing out of them. After the glands in my groin began to swell i went to the doctor he decided that i had cellulitis and these were infected hairs and perscribed antibiotcs. After taking the antibiots and 2 shots i had gotten better after about a week or so. 2 days a ago i saw what looked like a pimple on my penis it was not in the same place as any of the others. there was only 1 and it went away after 2 days. I am concerned this might be herpes?

Hello,
One possibility is of folliculitis but if it is painful blister, then herpes sore needs to be ruled out. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

do NOT shave it, this will only cause more ingrown hairs.. you can trim, but never shave. and if youre worried about stds, it is best to be responsible and get tested!
