HIV rash?

Hello I recently had a rash (no pun intended) of outbreaks over a 3-4 week period.  These rashes generally were behind my joints in the folds of skin of my elbows, thighs, and knees.  Also it was on my behind region as well as my thighs and back.  It was a burning sensation and hurt more whenever I itched and also got worse as I presume.  The only thing that creates doubt in my mind as to the origin of these is they looked more akin to a nettle rash and the bumps were not discolored other than a red tint.  These bumps tended to mesh together and create a raised patch of skin in the worst areas.  Also these rashes all disappeared within 3 or 5 hours of them beginning.  Is it possible that this was just food allergies?  I thought that HIV rashes tended to last longer and leave scars. In addition to this inbetween my outbreaks I had swollen lymph node glands for one day or so(however this was accompanied by a pain behind my ears and sore throat, as you would see in an ear infection).  Another event after this was a week´s worth of diarrhea, however I believe it was due to a stomach bug seeing as how I am in Mexico at the moment.  Any advice?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a heat rash or hives. The swollen lymph nodes can be due to sore throat. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
