HPV or MPV?

HPV or MPV?

Hi Dr
About a yr & a half ago I developed a small (2mm wide) pink spot on my scrotum with a tiny dimple in the middle. It was there for a while & didnt change, & after trying to squeeze it a tiny, white/cream colour plug came out. It stayed for a couple of months, then disappeared. A few months later one appeared on my lower abdomen, a tiny dimple in the centre. Where Id been itching, the skin around it had gone slightly pink & shiny. I went to my GP who told me its a harmless little wart, common in people my age, froze it with liquid nitrogen, & told me that the red area should also disappear, & if any more were to appear, to come back in & hed repeat the process. Later on one appeared on the shaft of the penis, & he froze that off too.
A couple of months later, on the shaft of the penis & it's base I developed a few more of these, this time smaller (about 1mm), but still pinky flesh coloured, in 2 small groups/areas of spots. After some research I'd concluded that the problem must be molluscum - since they were painless, pinky flesh coloured which did not grow in size, & some of the slightly larger ones had the same tiny dimple & cheesy plug. I'd also had a slight eczema around the crotch to anal area which Id heard could happen, & the skin around the 2 small spotted areas was sort of shiny.
I wanted to be sure that the problem was molluscum, so I booked an appointment at the sexual health clinic at my local hospital. After sheviewed  the problem, she froze them, & told me they were little warts, & that most peoples immune systems fight the virus off in about two years, sometimes longer. She gave me some cream & told me to return in 4 wks.
I went back & asked her if it had been molluscum. She asked me if that is what she'd said at the time, checked her records, & told me shed just written warts. I asked her if this meant the HPV virus, & she told me yes.
So I'm confused - doesnt this sound like molluscum? I also have some tiny pinky flesh coloured spots on my chest.

These don't sound like wither HPV warts or molluscum.  Anything with a white, cheesy plug sounds like a cyst, and small cysts are common on the penis and scrotum.  My advice is to see a skin doctor who can tell you with as much certainty as possible what these likely were (of course the ones that were treated aren't there any more.)

Best.
