Hair Follicle inflamation(inflammation)?

Ohkay, my step brother just recently, about two to three weeks ago, got diagnosed with scabies. And all during the time he had it and didn't bother to tell his mother about it, i was constantly with him. Hanging out in his room, laying on his bed (sometimes falling asleep), always in close proximety(sp?) with him.

About a week ago, i started noticing bumps on my legs and on my sides, they didn't really itch, but sometimes they did, and i went to the doctor, convinced that i had caught scabies from my step brother, but my doctor told me that my hair follicles were just inflamed. Could it be possible that i have been misdiagnosed?

I don’t think that the rashes are due to scabies because it is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

So although it does sound like folliculitis,yet if you have severe itching then pls get these tests done from a dermatologist as scabies is highly contagious and it is necessary to completely rule it out.
