Hair Loss and HPV???

Hair Loss and HPV???

I was told that my Yearly PAP test came back with HPV readings and I am being watched for pre cancerous cervical problems.  I just got told by my hair dresser that I have patches of hair loss.  I have 4 in all.  My scalp is itchy and I noticed lately I am tired more than normal.  I also noticed my jewelry is turning on my fingers....What is happing to my body?  I am 43 and in extremely great shape...so I thought....any thoughts on HPV causing all this?

Hi

Scalp itchiness, easy fatigability and weight loss are nonspecific signs and symptoms. When I say nonspecific, several factors may be causing these. I know you are worried about your PAP smear results, however at this point I would suggest that you have a complete physical examination by a medical internist. An abdominal examination and cardiac tests may be done to eliminate any possible cause of your symptoms.

Itchy scalp and hair loss may be due to a fungal infection or seborrheic dermatitis. You may need to obtain scrapings from the scalp for microscopic evaluation. This would ascertain the presence of a fungal infection.

Are you worrying a lot lately? Hormonal problems, stress and decreased immune response may trigger some changes in the body. Keep a close consult with your gynecologist for close monitoring as indicated by your pap smear results.
